Our people

Excellent teaching and successful learning are people-oriented activities

A school is a community of learners.

Our staff, whatever role they play, are continually striving towards excellence, as well as our students. Montana is a social network where people from all over the world learn from each other. We cherish the small size of our school. Not only do we build bonds like in a big family, but everyone matters and everyone can make a difference.

Delivering the Montana Learning Experience requires teachers who are self-aware, curious and creative, clear thinkers and good communicators. They need to care about every one of their students. In short, excellent teachers at the top of their game. The same goes for everyone else. Education is, fundamentally, holistic. It is about the whole person and that requires good communication between class advisors, subject teachers, care staff and, of course, parents. We want our students to grow healthily, and that means that everyone has a part to play.

Our people

From all over the world

Day students or boarders, teachers and everyone else: our community creates long-lasting bonds, an international network of forever friends.

Like our students, our teachers and other staff come from all over the world, including Switzerland. They bring a wealth of experience to our community. We end up with a richly diverse Montana family where everyone learns.

Our local day students develop as global citizens, well prepared to go out and flourish in our well-connected world. Our international students gain an understanding of life in Switzerland. If they come from further afield, they experience the excitement of Europe, where you can live and breathe a wealth of cultures and languages on a short train journey.

The Montana student community is lively and very international. Everyone is learning languages. Students enjoy memorable experiences within their academic programmes and beyond, joining together in resounding musical performances, debating the world’s big problems at the Model United Nations, skiing in the Swiss mountains and sharing a busy social calendar. The strength of their friendships is witnessed in the alumni community that every student joins on graduation.
