90th Birthday Anniversary Concert

Joint concert "Misa Tango - Misa a Buenos Aires"- a first-class concert on 26/27 November 2016 in Zug und Triengen (LU)

27 November 2016

We have written many times about our 90th anniversary this year and we have also celebrated with various special events.

Last weekend we experienced the highlight of our anniversary year with the joint concert "Misa Tango - Misa a Buenos Aires" by Martín Palmeri, at St. Michael Church in Zug and the Pfarrkirche St. Laurentius in Triengen (LU), with around 1'000 guests from Switzerland and abroad.

Mr Guido Bissig, Head of Music, directorate and artistic direction for this project, as well as many diligent helpers behind the scenes, made it possible to realise this first-class concert, involving our school choir in cooperation with star guest Noëmi Nadelmann, the choir of Cäcilienverein Triengen, accompanied by the Orchestra Camerata Musica Luzern. More than 120 voices joined together in this concert, from 10 to 80 years old and from over 40 nations, making it a wonderful musical experience, while at the same time expressing the philosophy and community of our school.

Premiered last Saturday in Zug, the song "MONTANA - My Place to Grow", composed by Guido Bissig on the occasion of the 90th birthday of Institut Montana Zugerberg, picks up on our guiding principle "Caring for the Learner. Fostering the Character. Building a Community." You will be able to download this song from our website very soon.

We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our students and their families for their support and their amazing commitment to this project. Furthermore, we express our thanks to the Cäcilienverein Triengen for the wonderful collaboration over the last 18 months. In addition, a special thank you goes to our star soloist Noëmi Nadelmann, who already fascinated us tremendously throughout the joint rehearsals! We would also like to thank Ms Marianne Walker, Roland Senft and the Orchestra Camerata Musica Luzern, as well as our sponsors, secondary sponsors and benefactors, who made the realisation of this concert possible.
